Pygio is looking for a Senior Snowflake Engineer to join a client-dedicated Revenue Assurance programme.
You will be one of two Senior Data Engineers responsible for building a Snowflake-based reconciliation platform that integrates data from Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics AX and PowerBill. The platform will create a reconciled “golden thread” across multiple business systems, identify billing mismatches and help prevent revenue leakage.
Design and build Snowflake ELT pipelines integrating Salesforce, Dynamics AX, PowerBill and additional upstream data sources.
Develop and maintain Bronze, Silver and Gold layers following a medallion architecture.
Build entity-resolution and record-matching logic across customers, opportunities, assets, work orders, contracts and invoices using deterministic and fuzzy matching.
Develop detection logic for billing and revenue-leakage exceptions and create traceable exception datasets.
Implement dimensional data models and SCD Type 2 for key business entities.
Build semantic-layer datasets and support Revenue Assurance dashboard delivery.
Configure Snowflake warehouse sizing, resource monitors, auto-suspension, error handling and pipeline alerting.
Implement RBAC, dynamic data masking and data-governance controls.
Integrate additional upstream feeds using APIs, FTP, SQL, Excel and other ingestion patterns.
Perform unit/integration testing, reconciliation, row-count validation and completeness checks against source systems.
Support Git-based CI/CD and deployment of data pipelines.
Produce technical documentation, runbooks, RBAC matrices and infrastructure-as-code artefacts aligned with SOX/ITGC requirements.
Present progress and solutions during bi-weekly client demos and support knowledge transfer to Managed Services.
5+ years of Data Engineering experience.
3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience in production environments.
Advanced Snowflake knowledge, including warehousing strategy, RBAC, resource monitors, Time Travel, Snowpipe and Snowpark.
Expert-level SQL.
Solid Python skills for data transformation and engineering logic.
Experience designing and delivering Bronze/Silver/Gold or equivalent medallion architectures.
Strong dimensional modelling experience, including SCD Type 2.
Hands-on experience with entity resolution / record matching, including deterministic matching and fuzzy matching techniques.
Experience integrating CRM, ERP and/or billing systems, such as Salesforce, Dynamics AX/365 or comparable platforms.
Strong understanding of data quality and reconciliation: row-count validation, completeness checks and source-to-target validation.
Ability to work directly with clients, demonstrate technical solutions and discuss/defend engineering decisions.
Ability to work remotely during South African business hours (08:00–17:00 SAST).
Matillion experience.
Experience with alternative ELT/orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow or Azure Data Factory.
SnowPro Core certification; SnowPro Advanced Data Engineer is an advantage.
Matillion certification.
Experience working in SOX/ITGC-regulated environments.
Revenue Assurance, billing reconciliation or finance-data domain experience.
Experience with Git-based DataOps and CI/CD for data pipelines.
Knowledge of POPIA/GDPR data-governance requirements.
Experience implementing data masking and row/column-level security.
You are a hands-on Senior Data Engineer who can deliver quickly without compromising data quality, traceability or maintainability. You are comfortable taking ownership of implementation while collaborating closely with a Solution Architect on architectural decisions.
You document as you build, raise technical risks early and are confident working directly with business and technical stakeholders in a client-facing environment.
